What is Mass Texting?

Have you ever wanted to send a text to multiple people in one message, but not as a group text? Introducing Mass Texting with Dextr.

Mass texting lets you send the same message to multiple people individually, without creating a group thread where everyone can see each other’s replies. Instead of starting a group chat, each person receives your message as a direct, one-on-one text, which keeps responses private and conversations separate. With Mass Texting in Dextr, you can bulk select contacts by tag or relationship and send a single message that feels personal to each recipient. It’s ideal for event invites, updates, announcements, or staying in touch with different circles, all without the noise and reply-all chaos of a traditional group text.

How to Send a Mass Text

Install Mass Texting Shortcut

1. In Dextr, Navigate to Home > Settings.
2. Tap Install Mass Texting Shortcut by tapping the provided link in Dexr.
3. Tap the shortcut to begin the process.

Running the Shortcut

1. If will first ask if you want to personalize the message with first name.
2. It’ll then ask you to enter the message body.
3. Then select who you want to send the message to: contacts in a tag/group, relation type/group, from a recent event, or your favorites.
4. You’ll be notified of how many contacts are found, tap Done to continue.
5. It’ll then display a list of names for you to confirm.
6. iOS will also ask if you want to bulk-send messages.
7. After Confirming both, your messages will be sent.
